Raise money for your team, group, charity or non-profit and help the environment at the same time! The SARAH Redemption Center has two different options available for hosting your Can & Bottle Drive Fundraiser.
1. Fundraising Rally:
The first step in creating your Bottle & Can Fundraising Rally is to choose a Saturday for your event. On this date, between 9am-3pm family, friends, and the community will come to the SARAH Redemption Center to donate their Connecticut redeemable 5¢ bottles and cans to your cause. Members of your group can be at the SRC to process all of the donated bottles, on the designated day, and put the cans/bottles through our high tech reverse vending machines.
A week prior to your “rally” the material can be dropped off for storage at the SRC, or brought in on the designated day. SRC staff will provide a large storage bin in the rally area. This area is designated as your meeting point, where tables and chairs can be brought on your rally day. All proceeds go directly to your cause!
2. On-Going Fundraiser
Choose this fundraising option and we will do the work for you! All you have to do is drop off your redeemable bottles and cans to the SRC and tell them which group you are with. The SRC crew will process all of your bottles and cans in a timely manor. You will receive 4¢ per redeemable bottle and can. When a significant amount has been raised we will contact you to come pick up your money for your cause.
Use the tips for success below to host your successful fundraiser.
Tips For Success:
- Promote your bottle drive to group members at least a month or two in advance. Let members and/or parents know about the upcoming fundraiser so that they can start saving up all of their bottles and cans.
- If you have regular group meeting or team practices have members bring their accumulated recyclables to each meeting. This is a great way to start a friendly competition between each person to see who has the most redeemable containers.
- It is very important to advertise your bottle and can drive to the community. Create fundraising flyers to post up around town and schools in highly visible areas. Be sure to let people know where and when they can drop off their recyclables, what types of recyclables (glass, plastic and aluminum CT 5¢ bottles and cans), and whom they can contact for more information.
